Have you ever been talking to someone and noticed a glint of light bounce off their face? And you wonder if you’re seeing something but then it happens again when they turn their head just so? It happened to me the other week talking with my sister Abby. We were in my kitchen catching up about something and first there was one reflection, then another. It was confusing because my sister Abby isn’t exactly a big partier and we were together that morning because our nephew was graduating from college. But I knew what I was seeing so I said, “Abby, I think you’ve got glitter on your face.” And she replied, “Oh darn, must have been from the graduation card.” I couldn’t tell you how the glitter made its way from the card to her face, I know she didn’t rub it on there. But I suppose I do know how because glitter gets everywhere. That’s just what glitter does. It gets everywhere and people don’t seem to mind because it’s the most socially acceptable kind of microplastic. But it’s still frustrating how it can still choose you even if you don’t choose it for yourself.
