Don't Like - TV Chairs
If you’re going to sit around and watch TV you should do it from a couch, even if you are by yourself. It’s bad enough that so many rooms are oriented to face televisions but it’s really bad to have to have your specific chair to look at a screen. Ok, maybe you need it for orthopedic reasons, but I suspect that couches might force you to sit upright in a way a chair never could. That’s just core conjecture though. The true problem with TV chairs is that they’re isolating, hence why they’re a popular feature in so many single male living spaces. Now, a good book deserves its own comfy chair but nothing on a screen does. Watching should always come with the option to have someone join you. Now, an obvious objection here is to ask what about if you play video games? To which I’d ask, do you really want to have a gaming chair in the center of your living room? Isn’t that the kind of unforced interior design error an adult isn’t supposed to make? Aesthetics aside, a TV chair isn’t worth sacrificing the ability to have a fun make out.
