One of the many wonderful things Costco does so incredibly well is make a very basic and delicious birthday cake. They’re just like the kind you make out of a box but they really know what they’re doing. Is there a secret recipe? Do they have better ovens? Are they just incredibly practiced at what they do? Who knows. But at the exceedingly reasonable price of $28 for a half sheet cake, what’s the point in finding out. They’re the perfect cake for any birthday or celebration with enough people in attendance. They also come with these beautifully plain designs. They’re a one way ticket straight back to a simpler time in your life and they have an entire binder of designs you can choose from, nothing fancy—just icing. But when you finally have the cake, you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Happy Birthday, Emma!
And, David, have you tasted Costco's cheesecake? Oh my. And during the holidays they offer a fruited bread that's marvelous...cranberry walnut I think it is (in June it's hard to remember December...)
Happy birthday Emma! I hope you got a caterpillar cake 🐛
