Like - Having A Drink On The Plane
If you had asked me a few years ago, I would’ve frowned upon having a drink on the plane. Ok, if you got a complimentary glass of champagne in first class I wouldn’t begrudge you, but just like first class tickets, those little bottles of booze weren’t for me. It seemed so unnecessary to have to have a drink in the air and who wants to pay $9.50 for a shot of booze anyway? But abolitionism is a failed ideology and when you are heading out for a vacation a little beverage doesn’t sound so bad. In fact, it even sound pretty good when you consider $9.50 to be less than many bars charge these days. I mostly fly Alaska and they have this delightful old fashioned in a can that’s 40% ABV the way an old fashioned is supposed to be. They serve it to you in a paper cup with ice and leave you to watch your in-flight movie in peace. The tricky part about having a drink on the plane is that you’ll likely feel drunker than you would otherwise due to the pressurized cabin, lack of food, or both. Either way, you don’t have to worry too much as they cut you off with intermittent service, which is fine because having a drink on a plane isn’t about getting drunk.
