When you’re learning to drive parallel parking is the thing you think you should avoid at all costs. It’s what caused someone’s cousin or family friend to fail their license test. But parallel parking really isn’t all that as long as you drive a car and not a truck, SUV, or semi. And yet, even though it’s a routine element of driving, there’s a real pressure and sense of dread that comes with every parallel parking job. Those emotions are brought on by wondering if you’ll fit into the space and are then exacerbated by people watching you try. That’s when the heat is on. We’ve all seen someone attempt to parallel park and fail. It’s a little awkward and mildly embarrassing, especially when they can tell they’re being watched and get frustrated behind the wheel. At that moment you say to yourself (as the person watching), “I’m happy not to be you right now.” But then, if the person nails their parallel parking job you say to yourself (as the person watching), “Damn, that was impressive. Respect.” Because we’ve all been there and we’ll all be there again because parallel parking is a necessary part of driving. So you might as well get good at it.

This is how I failed my driver's test in the first five minutes... and they still made me complete the route.
Saw a YouTube video years ago about a fool proof parallel parking method. Relish the opportunity now to squeeze into a space!
